Eat the News

Design Research - Publication

"Eat the News" is a series of interactive installations created for Design Research. Participants are invited to respond to controversial and sometimes intimate questions and topics that elicit diverse and debated opinions. The objective of this exercise is to provide an alternative approach to gathering sensitive data by creating a secure and inclusive environment that guarantees anonymity and fosters trust. The installations are “statistical objects,” designed to spark debate or introspection then encourage voting in an innovative manner. These objects incorporate a gastronomic element that is carefully correlated with the chosen theme. Food is employed as a guiding motif due to its universal relatability, its status as a cultural treasure, and its profound connotations and symbolism. This integration ensures that each interaction is deeply meaningful and contextually rich, enhancing both participant engagement and the relevance of the data collected. The gathered statistics are then analyzed, synthesized, and translated into an infographic or data visualization composed of elements from the experience.
